“THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A DREAM TO CREATE THE FUTURE” ……………Victor Hugo

– In a speech delivered at Osawatomie High School in Osawatomie, Kansas, on Tuesday, President Barack Obama argued that while a limited government that preserves free markets “speaks to our rugged individualism” as Americans, such a system “doesn’t work” and “has never worked” and that Americans must look to a more activist government that taxes more, spends more and regulates more if they want to preserve the middle class.

As a “rugged individual”, I should know, having created four businesses in my lifetime. I have also been blessed to have been able to watch my family set the scene for me to learn from and how to forge out on my own and build something from nothing. I watched as my grandparents came to America with absolutely nothing but “a dream to create the future”. My grandmother in particular came here at 12 years old, totally illiterate and as broke as our government. She learned the language and fortunately married my grandfather who was quite literate and who taught her. By the early 30’s despite Roosevelt’s unfair and overly regulated “progressive” policies towards business and labor, she thrived, building Derman Furs, on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. She was a “rugged individual”.  She also was an early model to me, showing me that with perspicacity, gumption and the ability to forge ahead towards her dream of having a successful life for her and more important to her, for her children, of whom she managed to put through college so they could have what she was denied in the old country.

This is what is an anathema to Obama and his “progressive” drones, who want to establish central planning, central control and central redistribution because he and his elitist ilk, just as did Roosevelt (prolonging the Depression) and Wilson, think they know better than the free market, better than the business community and better than you or I on how to run your life. BULLSHIT! That is the only way I can describe Obama’s point of view. How stupid can one be to want to “homogenize” us all. While we should treat each other socially as equals, it just is a fact that we are all not equal in all respects.

It was the “rugged individual” who took this country from nothing to make it the best and most powerful on earth. What kind of blinders is he and  his “progressive” drones wearing that they cannot read and see history right before their eyes? His own father’s ilk in Africa, The “African Socialists” have made a mess of it. Russia and China have both abandoned Socialism and just look at Europe where they are rioting in the streets for their “bread and circuses” (bread in the form of welfare and circuses in the form of the daily theater coming out of Europe with its seeming inability to stem the tide). It used to be that “bread and circuses” were used by the dictators to quell the mob. I never thought I would see the day where the mob is rioting for them.

If our country ever loses its ability to bring forth “rugged individuals”, like Steve Jobs, Jack Welch, Bernie Marcus, and becomes the “homogenized progressive regulatory nanny state” that Obama wants, say goodbye to your dreams.

  1. PROPRINTMAN says:

THE MAN (OBAMA) AND ALL OTHER POLITICIANS IS THINKING BACK ASSWARDS….THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THIS COUNTRY SUCESSFUL AND INDEPENDENT FOR ALL…. IS TO RID THE COUNTRY OF ALL POLITICIANS, LOBBYISTS AND SPECIAL INTREST GROUPS, AND BEGIN THINKING ABOUT RUNNING THIS COUNTRY AS A SUCESSFUL BUSINESS.
LET OTHER COUNTRYS TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE…CONCENTRATE ON EDUCATION…FEED OUR PEOPLE FIRST. IN OTHERWORDS…TAKE CARE OF OUR PEOPLE FIRST! HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GOING TO LET THEM TRAMPLE US?
